The flop
The three communal cards (referred to as the flop) are now dealt face up in the middle of the table. There follows a second round of betting, at the same levels as before ($5, with possible raises to $10, $15 and $20). This time, the first player to act (always the player closest to the dealer's left who is still in the pot) can check if he or she likes. If the first player checks, so may the second, etc. but the moment one player bets then every other player must decide whether to call, raise or fold. If all the players check, the turn is dealt immediately. Once again, if one player bets and all the other players fold, then that player takes the pot without even having to show his cards. But if there are two or more players still left in, then the turn is dealt.
TheTurn
The turn, which is one single communal card, is now dealt face up, and there follows a 3rd round of betting. This time the stakes are at the higher level, in this example $10 with possible raises to $20, $30 and $40. Once again, players have the option to check if there are no bets, and the pot can be won here if all the players decide to fold in the face of a bet from another player.

The River
The River is the final face up communal card which is dealt, and there is a fourth and there follows a final round of betting, once again at the higher level.
