With grading fees ever rising for these graders, normally only Gem 9.5’s and 10’s create a positive valuation for modern card resale. As such, even the most popular rookie cards from Topps, Panini, Leaf, Upper Deck, SAGE and Sports Illustrated for Kids and more are often sold ungraded in the secondary market. Beckett Grading Services (BGS), PSA and SGC are the main companies used to grade a card. In general, BGS is preferred for modern cards, while PSA is the favorite for vintage cards. (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about). Quality of slabs are comparable to BGS and I feel their grading is on par with BGS (I have never sent over to BGS) but I have had a card in a BGS slab that I removed our of slab a while ago to fit my PC at the time and resubmitted to MNT and received the same grade.
