The history of this mill - the 'Mill of Calvet'- begins in the seventeenth century, when it became one of the most important mills of the region, working with 3 turbines driven by the water from the Muga river, propelling 3 millstones.
First it was a grain mill and later a cement mill. Two millstones are still preserved in the bar area of the restaurant.
In the sixties of the twentieth century, the mill stopped working and deteriorated until it was acquired in 1978 by Pere and Angelina Lladó.
They decided to restore the ancient mill, respecting its original structure and stone ceilings and turning it into a restaurant.
In the year 1980, after 2 years of works, the restaurant was inaugurated in the lower part of the mill. At the same time, they continued working on the first and second floor to turn it into a small hotel with 7 rooms that was inaugurated in 1982.
Bit by bit, between 1995 and 2007, their three children Marc, Jordi and Eva, were incorporated in the business. In 2009 a new building alongside of the historic mill was started, with eight new rooms, a breakfast area and a common room with fireplace and an outdoor pool. This building opened on May 20, 2011.
